Offender in Buster's Law case indicted for sexual abuse
A Schenectady County grand jury has indicted a city man on charges he lured a 12-year-old city girl into park near Vale cemetery and sexually abused her in September. He is the same person who as a teen a decade ago set fire to a cat named Buster, prompting a push to make animal cruelty a felony in New York.

Murderer faces third strike in police dog's death
Ronald J. Chenette, 38, is accused of killing Dakota, a 5-year-old German shepherd and Vancouver police member, as police searched for the man in an area of heavy brush and trees near Brush Prairie, Wash., on Tuesday.
